Lagniappe Law Lab has recently entered into a partnership with the Louisiana Supreme Court’s Technology Commission and the Suffolk Legal Innovation and Technology Lab (“LIT Lab”) to pilot a new court document automation program. During the pilot, Lagniappe Law Lab will automate two high-use self-represented litigant court forms, the Louisiana Adult Name Change and Article 103 Divorce (No Children).
“Document automation and simplified access to the courts is an essential aspect of expanding access to justice,” Executive Director Amanda Brown says. “At the completion of this process, we hope to show that technology adoption like document automation can add real value to the courts, and provide a meaningful service to those that simply cannot afford to hire an attorney.”
